Nathan smoked one pack of cigarettes per day for the entirety of his 20s. On his final attempt to quit in 2012, he decided to start a workout routine to help stay motivated and maybe drop a few pounds. He found CrossFit Brave just after the doors officially opened. The struggle was not easy but the benefits paid off. With no athletic background, every movement was new to him. As time went on, Nathan gained an appreciation for the practicality of lifting weights and moving your body, especially in the three main power lifts: bench press, back squat, and deadlift. He is no longer a smoker and is the healthiest he has ever been in his life.
The motivation to help others was born out of Nathan’s own transformation and from observing the drive and hard work of those around him. There are no “losers” in CrossFit. If you come and do the work, you have already won. To be a winner, associate with them. Nathan wants to help anyone reach their goals who are willing to put in the effort. This is a lifelong journey, not just a three month plan.
